And to clarify, this is no knock on Mark Herring's qualifications or accomplishments as AG. It's just confirmation that the AG's job is *not* criminal prosecution, since that takes place at the local prosecutor level. The legislature has worked hard to keep it that way.

Kind of funny to see former two-term Attorney General Mark Herring in this ad so worried that AG candidate @jonesjay.bsky.social hasn't prosecuted a criminal case before. Because you know who ELSE had never prosecuted a criminal case before becoming AG? Yep, Mark Herring! 🙃

Gotta love it out here in the Wild West of campaign finances, where the "regulated monopoly" gives boatloads of money to both those writing the laws to regulate them and to those who would take them to court for violating the laws that regulate them. 🤦🏻‍♀️

"The dramatic jump in decertifications – once an exceptionally rare punishment – has both advocates for police reform and law enforcement officers saying the new regulations have made a difference." vcij.org/stories/as-v...

Good things happen when we elect Democrats!
Bar chart shows number of officer decertifications per year are 17 or fewer (usually less than ten) from 2010 until the law changed, and suddenly jump to 80-90 per year after the law is passed.
