CALL NOW! We need to break the ERA free from the House Privileges & Elections Committee and Senate Rules - Urge them to SEND HJ 2,4,129 and SJ 4 TO THE FLOOR FOR A VOTE!

Also call Speaker Kirk Cox, 804-698-1066

CALL CALL CALL! After that, Tweet and Email if you like. If you have a true story about clear discrimination (male colleague who worked measurably less hard than you or brought in far less money for your employer, being paid more), please tell it! Thank you!!!

If you are a constituent, start your call with "My name is ___ and I'm a constituent - I live in [town]." Then ask them to send the ERA bills to the floor for a full vote! Women deserve equal treatment for equal work!

If you are able to appear in person to make a statement on Friday 2/9 at 9:30am, House Room 3 (Capitol Bldg.) for the House P & E hearing, please do so. This is the most powerful action of all.
Comments
(1) Urge Del. Mark Cole to send HJ 2, 4, &129 to the floor for a vote! #ERANow
(2) Nevada ratified the ERA last year after legal counsel said Congress can move the deadline even now. Ratification now does have legal meaning. Send the ERA resolutions to the floor!
(3) The ERA resolutions do NOT need to wait until next year. This is not a Virginia Constitutional issue. They can be passed like regular bills because they are ratifying the US Constitution's amendment, not Virginia's.
(4) Republican Senators Sturtevant, Dunnavent and Vogel, and Delegates Robinson, McGuire and Thomas all support the ERA. Treating people the right way is bipartisan!
(5) Virginia has an ERA in our state constitution. It has not impaired religious rights or interests. Nor will the federal amendment. Nevada's legislative committee counsel confirmed this, before Nevada ratified the ERA last year. The time to ratify is now!
(6) Women who work as hard and smart as a man deserve equal compensation. But unreasonable discrimination does happen. The federal amendment will give women the right to appeal to the Supreme Court.
(7) Men, boys and girls often depend on women's compensation and rights. Please hear our voices and ratify the ERA!
(8) It's important for women to have the choice to stay home OR to work and to be protected and supported in those decisions. And the Supreme court has said that until the ETA is ratified, they aren't.
